Called Meetings of UNCW Chancellor Search Committee
Thursday, September 12, 2002
The Chancellor Search Committee of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington will conduct two open forums on Monday, Sept. 23, to solicit input from community and university constituents to aid in developing search criteria that will be used to evaluate chancellor candidates. The first chancellor search open forum will be from noon to 2 p.m. in the Warwick Center Ballroom.
The second chancellor search open forum will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in Warwick Center Ballroom.
Members of the Chancellor Search Committee will participate in each session, both of which are open to the public. Faculty, students, staff, alumni and community members are welcome to attend either session.
“It is important for the Chancellor Search Committee to have a clear understanding of the challenges facing the university over the next five to 10 years in order for us to have a sense of the qualities that we need to look for in selecting the next chancellor,” said Larry Dagenhart, chair of the committee. “Toward this end, the committee needs to hear from university and community constituents as we develop formal search criteria.”
In addition to the open forums, the search committee is accepting written comment from interested parties. Comments, suggestions, or observations may be forwarded to Chancellor Search Committee, P.O. Box 12569, Wilmington, NC 28405 or ChancellorSearch@uncw.edu. All written comments will become part of the public record of the search process.
