WILMINGTON, NC – The Oct. 7 UNCW Arts in Action Performing Arts Series concert featuring Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés has been canceled.

According to International Music Network, the agency representing Valdés, the artists’ fall U.S. tour was called off due to his inability to secure a travel visa.

Ticket holders for the 8 p.m. Oct. 7 concert can exchange their tickets for another event in the Arts in Action series, receive a refund or convert the cost into a tax-deductible donation in support of the series, said Shannon Hooker, assistant director for program and marketing for Activities and Involvement Center at UNCW.

Blues artist Keb’ Mo’ is the next performer featured in the series; his concert is scheduled for 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14.
