Please join Fred J. Morganthall II, president of Harris Teeter Inc., Dr. Cathy L. Barlow, dean of the UNCW Watson School of Education, and Pat Leonard, vice chancellor for student affairs, at a news conference at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23 at Wagoner Hall, Madeline Suite, on the campus of UNC Wilmington.

The purpose of the news conference is to announce the first collegiate partnership in the Harris Teeter “Together in Education” program that up until now has permitted customers to designate only k-12 schools to receive a portion of the proceeds on Harris Teeter brand merchandize purchased on its VIC card. Over the past four years, the program has yielded more than $2.8 million to participating secondary and primary schools.

Rescheduling the news conference has necessitated a change in the Sept. 23 called meetings of the UNCW Chancellor Search Committee announced Sept. 16. The complete schedule for Sept. 23 is as follows:

10-11:30 a.m. – The chancellor and division vice chancellors will address the committee, Wagoner Hall, Madeline Suite.

Noon to 2 p.m. – Open forum, Warwick Center Ballroom

2-3 p.m. – Academic deans will address the committee, Wagoner Hall, Madeline Suite (revised time)

3:45 – 4:45 – Academic department chairs and directors will address the committee, Wagoner Hall, Madeline Suite (revised time)

5-7 p.m. – Open forum, Warwick Center Ballroom
