RE: Media Launch of SpinNC and Luncheon

11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, UNCW Executive Development Center

Northeast New Hanover County Library at Landfall

Members of the media are cordially invited to join UNC Wilmington Chancellor James R. Leutze for an interactive media event to launch the latest service initiatives of the Southeast Public Interest Network of North Carolina (SpinNC). SpinNC is a community-based public interest Internet network designed to help people gather and share information in an 11-county region: Bladen, Brunswick, Carteret, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Hoke, New Hanover, Pender, Onslow, and Sampson counties. SpinNC is a one-of-a-kind program and represents a major advance in service to nonprofit and governmental organizations.

Starting at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, Chancellor Leutze will demonstrate the new community resource directory, regional editions, nonprofit tools, and business directory that comprise SpinNC. SpinNC is designed as a single access point on the Internet to provide a variety of information and referral services to citizens of Southeastern North Carolina.

Please join Chancellor Leutze, SpinNC staff, and board of directors for a hands-on interactive tour. Lunch for the media will follow immediately. UNCW staff and the SpinNC board of directors will be available for interviews.
