Just a reminder about the press opportunity to meet and interview nationally known political scientist Dr. Merle Black from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at Lakeside Hall, Room 255, on the campus of UNC Wilmington. Comments from him would be an excellent addition to your pre- and post-election coverage.

Dr. Black will be in town to speak at 7:30 that evening on “The Rise of Southern Republicans and the Election of Nov. 5, 2002” in Cameron Hall Auditorium. Responding to his talk will be Dr. Thad Beyle of UNC-Chapel Hill who is an expert on state government and 18th District Cumberland County Representative Mia Morris, a Republican and graduate of the UNCW Institute of Political Leadership.
