October 19 reunion planned for Wilmington College 1960-69 classes

WILMINGTON, NC – A reunion of the 1960-69 Wilmington College classes is planned for Saturday, Oct. 19.

A day full of activities is scheduled, concluding with a reunion party hosted by 1966 graduate Bob King at his truck center on New Centre Drive.

Reunion events include:

8 to 9:30 a.m. – Drop-in breakfast and tour of Wise Alumni House, 1713 Market Street. No charge for admission. Sara Fussell Messer ’66 will host.

10 a.m. – Walking tour of campus led by UNCW Student Ambassadors. Participants should meet at the Trask Coliseum lobby. Ron Staton ’65 will host.

Noon to 1:30 p.m. – Lunch and Learn at the Center Stage Cafe, Warwick Center. The program features author and UNCW professor Philip Gerard discussing his new book, Secret Soldier: The Story of World War II’s Heroic Army of Deception. Reservations are required, and admission is $10 a person. Jessiebeth Brady Geddie ’63 will host.

2 p.m. – Center for Marine Science tour, 5600 Marvin K. Moss Lane. Maps to center will be available at breakfast, walking tour and lunch events.

6 p.m. – Reunion party at the Bob King Truck Center, 5515 New Centre Drive. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. and the buffet dinner at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by The School Boys, featuring UNCW Bill Bolduc, David Bollinger, Art Gowan, James Hunt, Rick Olsen and Frank Trimble. Reservations are required and the cost is $40 a person. Every Wilmington College alumnus will receive a reunion gift.
