Columbus County Businessman Named to UNC Wilmington Board of Trustees

WILMINGTON, NC – Columbus County businessman John A. “Sandy” McNeill Jr. was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Named by Gov. Mike Easley, he will serve the remaining term of the late Owen Kenan, which expires June 30, 2003.

An alumnus of UNC Chapel Hill, McNeill is chief executive officer of Liberty Healthcare Services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in 1972. He is a member of the UNC Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors and the Pharmacy Foundation of North Carolina.

McNeill and his wife Deborah reside in Whiteville, and they have three children.
