UNCW to Graduate 955 Undergrads and 150 Grads in Dec. 20 Ceremony

Wilmington, NC – The University of North Carolina at Wilmington will
award 955 baccalaureate degrees and 150 graduate degrees at 9:45 a.m.,
Friday, Dec. 20, in Trask Coliseum.
These totals include the number of undergraduates and graduates who
finished in July.
Of the 955 graduates, 232 graduated in July and of the 150 graduates, 58
graduated in July. July graduates have the option to participate in the
December commencement.
The UNCW December graduates should report to Hanover Hall at 9 a.m.
on commencement day to line-up for the processional. Following the
main ceremony, academic departments will hold individual
commencement ceremonies.
The 4th Graduation Pledge will be at 8:30 a.m., Friday Dec. 20, in the
Hawk’s Nest during the graduation breakfast. This is an opportunity for
seniors to make a commitment to helping shape a better citizenry and
world. The Graduation Pledge Alliance was founded at Humboldt State
University. Students who take the pledge join students from Harvard
University, University of Kansas, and Massachusetts Institute of
Technology; among others. The pledge reads, “I pledge to explore and
take into account the social and environmental consequences of any job
I consider and will try to improve these aspects of any organizations for
which I work.”
