Local Filmmakers to Discuss Careers for UNCW Movie Makers Lecture

WILMINGTON, NC -- Independent filmmakers Bo Webb and Dan Turek will discuss their careers from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, March 28, in UNCW’s Morton Hall, Bryan Auditorium, as part of the Movie Makers Lecture Series sponsored by the university’s Film Studies Department.

Both Webb and Turek have more than 10 years of professional experience as assistant camera operators. Webb worked on the movies Kiss the Girls, The Patriot and A Walk to Remember as well as short films, documentaries and music videos. He also helps run the annual Cucalorus Film Festival.

Turek, who has a degree in film from Chicago’s Columbia College, worked on Oliver Stone’s The Doors and JFK, and most recently Kevin Smith’s Jersey Girl.
