Local Focus Screenings at UNCW to Kick Off Film Festival

WILMINGTON, NC – Local Focus, an annual event sponsored by UNC Wilmington’s Film Studies Program, will screen short films by local and regional artists as a kickoff for the Cucalorus Film Festival. The showings, which are free and open to the public, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, in Morton Hall, Bryan Auditorium.

The movies, which vary in length, include:



• The Obituary, directed by Thom Rainey, script supervisor for Dawson’s Creek

• Tejuola Turner: Documentary of a North Carolina Artist, directed by John Goist

• Sightlines, directed by Rich Gehron

• Scud in a Bucket, directed by Mari Kittredge and Hope Sutton

• Easily Amused: One Take Wonders, directed by Matt Mizell

• Claude Howell: His Life, His Art, His World, directed by Neal Humphrey

• Another Day at the Office, directed by Kellista Rae Sidwell
