UNCW Hosting Regional Science Fair March 29

Wilmington, NC – UNCW’s Science and Mathematics Education Center is sponsoring the 2003 Southeast Regional Science Fair on Saturday, March 29, in Hanover Gymnasium.



More than 200 elementary, middle and high school students from 12 Southeastern North Carolina counties will compete in eight categories including biology, earth and physical sciences and technology.



UNCW faculty and graduate students as well as professional scientists and engineers from the community will select first-, second-, and third-place winners in each category, and the top two will advance to the State Science Fair which will be held April 25 at Meredith College in Raleigh.

The public can view projects from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. March 29. Awards will be presented from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Hanover Gymnasium.
