WILMINGTON - Dr. Theodore W. Burgh from Notre Dame University will present UNCW’s annual B. Frank Hall lecture at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, in Morton Hall, Bryan Auditorium.

In the talk “Do You Hear What I Hear? Music in Ancient Israel,” Burgh will discuss how the study of music and musical instruments helps understand life in ancient Israel. An archaeomusicologist, ethnologist and Biblical historian, Burgh is proficient in Near Eastern languages including classical and modern Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Akkadian. A postdoctoral fellow in Notre Dame’s Department of Anthropology and Theology, Burgh will join UNCW’s Philosophy and Religion Department this fall.

The B. Frank Hall Lecture, sponsored by UNCW’s Department of Philosophy and Religion, is named in honor of the founder of the department who also served as its chair.
