Wilmington – UNCW will host a “Support Our Troops” rally at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 10, on the University Commons.

According to rally organizer Jack Cook the event is important for UNCW students because the many of the men and women who are fighting today are of college age. “We are all coming together this week to let our deployed troops know that we are thankful for their sacrifice and will continue to support them throughout the duration of this conflict,” he stated.

The rally will include banner making, singing, music, student speakers, and speeches by local veterans. There will also be an opportunity to record a video message that will be sent to the troops overseas.

Phi Sigma Pi, a national honor fraternity emphasizing the ideals of scholarship, leadership and fellowship, is sponsoring this event. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Warwick Center Ballroom.
