Members of the media are invited to join Congressman Mike McIntyre (D-NC, 7th District) and UNCW Chancellor James R. Leutze for the announcement of a significant grant benefiting the operation of the Bolton Health and Wellness Center. This press opportunity is scheduled for

9 a.m., Monday, June 9, at the center’s construction site, adjacent to the Bolton Town Hall.

The UNCW School of Nursing will operate the center, which is currently under construction. Its creation is a partnership among the Towns of Bolton and Sandyfield, Waccamaw-Siouan Tribal Council and the university to improve the quality of life for the residents of these rural communities.

Driving Directions: Take Hwy 74 West toward Whiteville, then Hwy 214 to Bolton. Once on Hwy 214 drive about three minutes to the center’s construction site that is located on

Ninth Street between the Bolton Town Hall and the Bolton Seniors and Youth Center. In the event of inclement weather, the location will be the Bolton Seniors and Youth Center, located next door in the Herbert Riggins Building. You will see the sign. Both are located at the intersection of Ninth Street and Hwy 214 in Bolton.
