WILMINGTON, N.C. - The University of North Carolina at Wilmington Campus Activities and Involvement Center (CAIC) launched a redesigned Web site, http://www.uncw.edu/stuaff/activities, to increase awareness of the events sponsored by the department and its affiliated organizations. As part of the Division of Student Affairs, CAIC works closely with the over 140 student organizations registered on campus including the Student Government Association (SGA), the Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) and UNCW Presents, which plans the Arts in Action Performance Series, the Leadership Lecture Series and the University Union Art Exhibit Series.
“We can’t wait to hear student reactions to our new Web site,” said Angela Roth, associate director for involvement and campus activities. “We think students will find it not only easy to use, but also a must-have resource for planning their co-curricular activities. Our goal is to be bookmarked in every student’s Favorites folder.”
The new site features a dynamic, searchable event calendar updated regularly by CAIC, student organizations, SGA, ACE and UNCW Presents. It also includes useful information from each of CAIC’s affiliated organizations. For example, student organizations will find frequently asked questions and necessary forms for planning events. SGA meeting minutes and new legislation will be posted, as well as information about the ACE general board and its committees. Students can also get ticket information for UNCW Presents events.
The site was designed with the guidance of Michel Fougères, UNCW webmaster, and graphic design work by Lin Cheng, a graduate student with the ITSD client services student web development team.
