Actor Pat Hingle Speaks at UNCW Film Studies Lecture

WILMINGTON, NC- The University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Film Studies program will host a lecture featuring actor Pat Hingle from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 in Bryan Auditorium, Morton Hall, Room 100. The event is free and open to the public.

Pat Hingle has worked as a professional actor for over 50 years, performing in live television, theater and hit movies, such as Batman (1990) and its sequels, where he plays Commissioner Gordon. Hingle made his film debut in On the Waterfront (1954) and has played many memorable roles, including the judge in Hang ‘em High (1968), Sally Field’s father in Norma Rae (1979) and Angelica Huston’s boss in The Grifters (1990). He also appeared in The Gauntlet (1977), Sudden Impact (1983), The Falcon and the Snowman (1985), and is a veteran of episodic television.
