UNCW Offers Alaskan Summer Cruise

WILMINGTON, NC- The University of North Carolina at Wilmington is offering a trip, scheduled for June 6 through 13, 2004, through the Alaskan terrain, escorted by Professor Philip Gerard of the Department of Creative Writing. The seven-day cruise travels from Vancouver, B. C. to Anchorage, Alaska.Participants will stay aboard ms Veendam, a 55,451 ton passenger ship. Passengers will have the chance to see scenic wonders such as the calving glaciers of the Inside Passage, rugged frontier towns, snow-capped mountains and unique wildlife.
Accommodations for the trip are $1,999 per person for a category MM inside stateroom; $2,380 per person for a category FF ocean view; and $2,780 per person for a category BB verandah suite. Single accommodations should add $400-600 depending on the stateroom category. All prices include airfare from Wilmington, shipboard meals, soft drinks, entertainment, port taxes, government fees and airport transfers.
A nonrefundable deposit of $750 is due by Wednesday, Oct. 8 to reserve a space. The balance is due Monday, March 1, 2004.
