WILMINGTON, NC—The University Union Exhibit Series, sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Campus Activities and Involvement Center, will present “Inherent Drama in the Ordinary,” an art exhibit showcasing original photography by John Bartholomew. The exhibit will run through Oct. 27 in the University Union gallery. The exhibit is free and open to the public.John Bartholomew finds and photographs “inherent drama in the ordinary.” His style compliments the authenticity and timelessness of subjects in their natural setting, existing light and mood to capture their own evidence of being. Bartholomew states that his “studio is like having a fresh canvas and, with an abundance of subject matter, a clear horizon.”
Bartholomew graduated cum laude in film/communication arts from Boston University where he made his award-winning film, solus. He attended Temple University on a graduate teaching assistantship and produced the film, Emma’s Time as part of the documentary M.F.A. program. Bartholomew received his master’s in advertising/popular culture from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He received the 50th anniversary Kodachrome Award, has published and exhibited, including images in the Corbis archive and is developing a collection of work for a book title, A Photographer’s Time.
