UNCW Hosts Festival Latino Film Screenings

WILMINGTON, NC—As part of the weeklong Festival Latino, Amigos International, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Department of Foreign Language and Literatures and Latin American Studies program will screen two films from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.Professor Peter Thomas will introduce El norte (directed by Gregory Nava, 1984) in Bryan Auditorium, Morton Hall, Room 100. Professor Regina Félix will introduce Central do Brasil (directed by Walter Salles, 1998) in Lakeside Hall, Room 130. Post-viewing discussions are planned. The films are open to the public, and admission is free.
Amigos International is a local, non-profit community agency located at 1516 Market Street to help Latinos in the area find jobs, read leases, fill out forms for tax ID numbers and more.
