WILMINGTON, NC- The University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s Student Government Association (SGA) and the Inter-Organizations Council (IOC) will host their second yard sale to benefit student organizations from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. Each student organization registered through the Campus Activities and Involvement Center is able to take part in the sale. There is no fee to participate and it is open to the public.

The IOC is designed to facilitate and maintain an open discussion between the SGA and student organizations on the UNCW campus. The yard sale will be an opportunity to meet other organizations, student leaders, community members, faculty and staff. SGA’s Vice President of Student Organizations Mike Conley hopes this event will strengthen the common ties between UNCW’s student organizations while welcoming the Wilmington community.

The first yard sale sponsored by IOC and SGA was held in spring 2003 and helped 13 organizations raise over $1,145. Profits earned by the IOC from selling donated books went to the Leutze Merit Scholarship Program. Organizations can sell anything, including baked goods, new or used possessions, and arts and crafts.
