UNCW to Host Annual Adult Scholar Leadership Program for Semi-retired and Retired Professionals

By: Kenneth Luck, PR InternWILMINGTON, NC – The Division for Public Service and Continuing Studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington is now accepting applications for the 14th annual Adult Scholars Leadership Program in February 2004. Application deadline is December 1, 2003.
The program is designed for semi-retired or retired adults. It covers seven weeks and brings participants together with community leaders to discuss areas in history and culture, education, economic and regional development, criminal justice, health and human services, government, cultural arts and the media.
Following graduation, participants are encouraged to volunteer their time and expertise to governmental, educational or nonprofit entities and join an active alumni association of more than 235 members.
The cost is $250, which includes the seven-week program, notebook and materials, breakfast and lunch for each day and a graduation luncheon. Tuition assistance is available for qualified applicants.
