RE: 50th Anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education Informational Session

You are cordially invited to attend an information session with UNC Wilmington leaders of the Brown v. Board of Education 50th anniversary commemoration planning team. During spring semester 2004, UNCW as a “learning community” will be focusing on the theme, “Brown v. Board of Education and How It has Changed Us,” with a variety of public events, activities, and relevant sections of courses.

We believe there is tremendous potential for public dialogue around this topic, and the media have a critical role to play in helping to shape this discussion. The Star-News has invited us to meet in the publisher’s conference room for this informal discussion of what UNCW is planning and to explore whether and how local media would like to be involved in reaching beyond the campus with this important topic.
