UNCW Presents Bancroft Prize-Winning Historian and Author James T. Patterson

WILMINGTON, N.C.— James T. Patterson will give the Frank B. Hall lecture entitled “Brown v. Board and Its Troubled Legacy,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 26 in Morton Hall, Bryan Auditorium at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. The lecture is part of the UNCW Brown v. Board of Education Learning Community Semester. This event is free and open to students, faculty and the general public.Patterson is a Bancroft prize-winning historian and author of the foremost book on the Brown v. Board of Education decision and its aftermath. This event is co-sponsored by the UNCW Philosophy and Religion Department and the Landfall Foundation. In 1954 Brown v. Board of Education ended the constitutionality of “separate but equal” schools, and began the process to end segregation in American society.
