CANCELLED - RUBY BRIDGES EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Wilmington, N.C.—Ruby Bridges Hall will present the lecture “I Have a Dream…for Wilmington” at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 at Kenan Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, although tickets are required. The event is part of the semester-long UNCW learning community on the Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education and is co-sponsored by UNCW Academic Affairs and the Office of the Chancellor, as well as the Star-News, Wachovia Bank and the Landfall Foundation.Ruby Bridges Hall was the young girl who integrated New Orleans school system on November 14, 1960. She became famous through the Norman Rockwell painting of her walking alone, between four white federal marshals, into William Frantz Elementary School. Since then she established The Ruby Bridges Foundation and has become a nationally prominent speaker and leader for education.
