UNCW Hosts Two Events to Commemorate April as Sexual Violence Awareness Month

To commemorate April as Sexual Violence Month, The University of North Carolina at Wilmington will be holding two events, a play entitled You the Man and a Take Back the Night march and rally. Both events are free and open to the public.A performance of You the Man, a one-man show addressing unhealthy relationships, dating violence and sexual assault, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in the Warwick Center, Center Stage.
The 5th Annual Take Back the Night march and rally, a gripping event that both empowers women and educates the community about the realities of violence against women, will be held on the campus of UNCW on Thursday, April 22nd. The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m. march and ends with a 7 p.m. rally. The event includes music by Annette Warner, a candlelight vigil, speakers, readings and complimentary food from Domino's Pizza and Harris Teeter. The Clothesline Project and Silent Witness exhibits will be on display. All events and exhibits will be at the UNCW Commons, rain site will be in King Hall Auditorium 101.
