RE: Groundbreaking ceremony

You are invited to cover the groundbreaking ceremony for the latest construction project on the UNCW campus — the Computer Information Systems building. The ceremony will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, July 29, northeast of the University Union near the Campus Commons.

The $11.9 million building will house the Department of Computer Science, College of Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM), Cameron School of Business.

The building will capitalize on the latest technologies. In addition to classrooms and faculty offices, the facility will feature a room similar to the New York Stock Exchange Trading Room.

Participating in the ceremony will be Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo, Chair of UNCW Trustees Jeff Etheridge, Jr., Interim Provost Paul Hosier and computer science student Charles E. White II.
