RE: Groundbreaking Ceremony 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28 North of School of Education Building, East Campus
As part of the UNCW Board of Trustees meetings scheduled Oct. 28-29, we will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 4:30 Thursday, Oct. 28 for the third and final new classroom building to be funded through the 2000 Higher Education Facilities Bond Issue.
Please join the trustees and Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo as we break ground for the $32,033,885 cultural arts building to house the visual and performing arts at UNCW. The 104,830 square-foot building will house the departments of music and art and theatre.
The ceremony will include pouring of molten iron to create a new sculpture as well as viewing earth sculptures created as a special background feature for the groundbreaking site. A faculty brass ensemble will perform a brass fanfare to celebrate the occasion.
We hope you can join us to cover this special occasion in the life of UNCW. Watch for signs directing you where to park for this event.
