UNCW University Union Exhibit Series hosts fourth annual juried student exhibition

Oct. 25, 2004Wilmington, N.C.– The University Union Exhibit Series on the campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington is hosting its fourth annual All Student Show, a juried exhibition, featuring works from UNCW students. The exhibit will run through Dec. 3 in the Warwick Center Lobby. A reception for the student artists will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27. Awards for Best of Show and three Honorable Mentions will be given out at 5:15 p.m. The exhibit is sponsored by the UNCW Presents cultural arts program. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Students submitted over 100 works in drawing, painting, watercolor, photography and three-dimensional sculpture. Juror Chris Simmons, co-owner of Simmons Wright Gallery, selected 29 student pieces for the exhibit. His work is currently on display at the Simmons Wright Gallery in downtown Wilmington.
Participating students include: Anne Spitler, freshman; Shanga Manning, junior in studio art; Dana Jennings, sophomore in business management; Lauren Caddell, senior in studio art; Thai Hieu Blair, senior in studio art; Karen Pait, senior in studio art; Lindsay Carey, senior in psychology; Charmaine Ortiz, sophomore in studio art; Carene Madak, senior in studio art; Bonnie England, senior in studio art & art history; Rhonda Willett, senior in studio art; Russell Beinias, sophomore in chemistry; Travis Weller, senior in studio art; Justin Fritz, freshman in business; Susan Mintz, senior in studio art; Geoff Henshaw; Christie Joyce, senior in studio art; Lisa Pasqualetti, senior in studio art Tiffany Machler, senior in studio art; Sean McKinney, freshman; Lynn Graham, special; and Morgan Perkins, senior in film production.
