UNCW Presents U.S. Intelligence Reform Overview with Timothy Davis

Wilmington, N.C.— As part of the Great Decisions Discussion Program, Timothy Davis, an expert in United States intelligence, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 in Cameron Hall auditorium. The Political Science Department of the University of North Carolina Wilmington is sponsoring the event. The lecture is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Davis has over 25 years of experience working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and has testified before Congress on intelligence matters. Davis will be discussing United States intelligence reform as part of the Great Decisions Discussion Program, a spring lecture series.

Davis received his degree in criminal justice at Georgia State and is a Vietnam veteran. His career with the FBI began in 1978. Davis has extensive experience in bioterrorism, weapons of mass destruction (WMD), counterintelligence and counterterrorism investigations. Beginning in 2003, Davis conducted numerous briefings to Congress and responded to inquiries from the 9/11 Commission. Prior to his move to Washington, D.C., Davis was a Senior Resident Agent for the FBI overseeing WMD and bioterrorism investigations for a 40 county region of Georgia.

The Great Decision Discussion Program is the longest standing and largest grassroots world affairs educational program of its kind. It is the core of the Foreign Policy Association’s civic education outreach efforts and works to bring millions of Americans together in communities across the country to discover, discuss, and decide their opinions on foreign policy issues. This lecture series presents experts in foreign policy on a variety of current global affairs.
