Corporate social responsibility topic for discussion

Wilmington, N.C. – Corporate social responsibility is the topic of a seminar that will be hosted by the Cameron MBA Student Association at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. It will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 10 in the Warwick Center Ballroom.

Paul Bloom, professor of marketing at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, will lead the discussion on why corporate social responsibility (CSR) is being embraced by organizations globally and the value added to organizations by embracing the principles of CSR.

A panel of leaders from global organizations will discuss their activities relative to CSR. They are: Fred Davenport, president of PPD; Mark Sweeney, chief financial office of GE Energy; and John Elliott, manager of community relations for Progress Energy.
