Wilmington, N.C. – The Department of Film Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington will host Professor Ritt Dietz at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18 in Morton Hall’s Bryan Auditorium, Room 100.

Dietz, the executive director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Professional French Masters Program, will explore Kabaret Kino through a combination of lecture, screenings and discussion.

Kino is an international phenomenon that a group of young filmmakers began in Montreal in 1999. Kino filmmakers, called Kinoites, use new, low-cost digital video formats to make films no longer than 10 minutes.

MovieMaker lectures are free and open to the public.
