Communication studies alumni share success stories

March 14, 2005Wilmington, N.C. – Alumni of the University of North Carolina Wilmington will share their success stories during Communication Studies Day 2005. It will be held Friday, March 18 in Leutze Hall, Room 125.
In keeping with the theme “Return of the COMquering Heroes: Alumni Share Stories of Success,” 14 UNCW Department of Communication Studies alumni will describe their academic and career paths since earning B.A. degrees in communication studies and field questions from the audience regarding their journeys and triumphs. Presentations will be recorded for broadcast on UNCW-TV (TLN) and for use in communication studies classes.
The first panel discussion will be at 10 a.m. Participants are Neesha Allen ’93, regional camper recruiter, Victory Junction Gang Camp, Randelman; Brandon Beane ’98, football operations manager, Carolina Panthers, Charlotte; Penni Ellington ’00, media relations coordinator, Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, Burbank, Calif.; Jessica Groome ’04,
management trainee, Cintas Corporation, Clinton; Scooter Hayes ’03, professional storyteller, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Daniel Marks ’04, assistant director of admissions, UNCW; and Brian Thomas ’03, field task manager, Mark Burnett Productions, Los Angeles, Calif.
The second panel discussion will be at 2 p.m. Participants are Kiara D. Jones ’04, reservationist, UNCW Transitions Program; Shana Dellinger MacEwan ’01, loan officer, East Coast Mortgage, Wilmington; Daniel Mansson ’02, communication instructor, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn.; Jason C. Rollins ’03, assistant account executive for consumer brands, Edelman Atlanta, Atlanta, Ga.; Zach Schabot ’01, account executive, Lone Wolf, Raleigh, and partner, Pinstripe Partners Real Estate Invest Firm, Raleigh; Josef D. Stephens ’99, clinical regulatory specialist, PPD Inc., Wilmington; and Tom Wells ’02, ’04M, director of photography, The Go To Team, Charleston, S.C.
