Take Back the Night scheduled for March 30

March 16, 2005Wilmington, N.C. – To commemorate April as Sexual Violence Awareness Month, the University of North Carolina Wilmington will hold its 6th annual Take Back the Night march and rally at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 in the Warwick Center Ballroom on the campus of UNCW. This event is free and open to the public.
The Take Back the Night march and rally, an event that empowers women and educates the community about the realities of violence against women, begins with the march at 6:30 p.m. and ends with the rally beginning at 7 p.m., which will include music, a candlelight ceremony, speakers and readings. The Clothesline Project and Silent Witness exhibits will be on display.
All events are sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students’ A-Team, a peer education group dedicated to ending sexual violence. For more information, contact the A-Team at 910/962-3119 or ateam@uncw.edu.
