Wilmington, N.C. – Trombonist John Fulkerson, a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will give a recital at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7 in Kenan Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Fulkerson is a 2004-05 Cape Fear Jazz Appreciation Society scholarship recipient. Fulkerson will be performing five original compositions and a traditional piece, "O Come Emanuel," that he arranged. Joining Fulkerson on stage will be UNCW faculty Jerald Shynett, piano; fellow students Shaun Mahoney, guitar and Chris Morris, bass; and locally-known Troy Pierce on drums.
