Wilmington, N.C. - The University of North Carolina Wilmington will host the Regional Hispanic Education Summit from 8 a.m. - noon, Saturday, June 4, 2005 in Cameron Hall on the campus of UNCW.

The Summit is free. Please call by May 31, 2005 to reserve a seat: Academic Affairs Outreach, UNCW, 910/962-3540.

9:00 – 9:30 a.m. - Plenary session
9:30 – 9:40 a.m. - Break/Go to breakout sessions
9:40 – 10:20 a.m. - Session I

10:30 – 11:10 a.m. - Session II

Theme A: College Admissions and Financial Aid
Theme B: What’s College All About – College Life and Expectations
Theme C: Academic Advising, Counseling and Career Choice Issues

• All sessions will be in English with Spanish interpreters.
• Participating organizations will include UNCW, community colleges and schools in southeastern North Carolina, with the collaboration of the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals, the Hispanic Community Development Corp., Mundo Latino newspaper and the College Foundation of North Carolina.
• The main focus is to inform students, their families and other interested individuals of opportunities and access to higher education, especially from a Hispanic heritage perspective.
