Learning Network Announces Four Rebroadcasts of Wilmington City Council, Mayoral Forums

Wilmington, NC – UNCW-TV announces that it will rebroadcast candidate forums for Wilmington City Council and Mayor four times starting at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 with council candidates followed at 8:30 a.m. by mayoral candidates. The forums will be broadcast over The Learning Network on Time Warner cable channel 5 and Charter Communications channel 12.

Other rebroadcast dates and times are Oct. 7, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (council), and 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (mayoral); Oct. 8, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. (council) and 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. (mayoral); Oct. 10, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (council) and Oct. 11, 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. (mayoral).

The forums, originally broadcast live on The Learning Network and WAAV radio Sept. 26, were sponsored by the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) in conjunction with WAAV radio, the Star-News, and UNC Wilmington.

The rebroadcasts feature nine of the 13 candidates for three city council seats and the two mayoral candidates. The forums utilized a panel who questioned the candidates as well as questions from the audience. Donn Ansell, prominent talk show host for WAAV, served as moderator.
