Moulton Promoted to UNCW Police Patrol Commander

Wilmington, N.C. - Robert Moulton has been named University of North Carolina Wilmington Police Patrol Commander and assigned the rank of Captain.Moulton started his career as a detail commander with Morris Protective Services in 1996. He worked for the Tioga County Sheriff's Department before accepting a police officer trainee position with UNCW in August 1999. Moulton completed Basic Law Enforcement Training and was sworn in January 2000.
David Donaldson, UNCW Chief of Police, says, "Captain Moulton has shown the initiative, work ethic, community and organizational sensitivity, and desire to serve our department in continuing responsible positions. I am pleased that another internal candidate has benefited from an acting position and has proven himself in direct competition with other successful commanders from outside agencies."
Moulton was one of four finalists for the position and was unanimously selected for demonstrating the ability to recognize concerns, process information and act responsibly and for the experience he brings as previous acting Patrol Commander.
