Home Is Where the Seahawk Is, Week of Events to Celebrate UNCW's Annual Homecoming

Wilmington, N.C. - University of North Carolina Wilmington Division of Student Affairs and the Campus Activities & Involvement Center announces "Home Is Where the Seahawk Is," a week of events Jan. 23-28 celebrating UNCW's annual homecoming."Home Cooked Monday" kicks off on Jan. 23 with hot chocolate available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Commons. A soul food dinner with Sammy the Seahawk will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. in Wagoner Hall.
"Sweet Tooth Tuesday" begins with a blood drive at 9:30 a.m. in the Warwick Center Ballroom. A campus wide student organization bake sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Comedian CoCoa Brown will end the night with a live show at 7 p.m. in the Warwick Center Ballroom.
"Get Fired up Wednesday" includes a commuter coffee break from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Seahawk Perch and a bonfire and firework display from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gazebo.
On "Rock the House Thursday," free games will be offered at Sharky's Game Room from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Warwick Center. A concert featuring The Mile After and Friends will be at 8 p.m. in the Warwick Center Ballroom.
"Show It Off Friday" will feature the homecoming parade from 3 to 5 p.m. around campus. The National Pan-Hellenic Council and the African American Graduate Association are co-sponsoring the annual step show at 8 p.m. in Hanover Gym. Doors open at 7 p.m. for this event, being hosted by J-Breezy and Big B. Tickets are on sale at the University Union Information Desk starting Tuesday, Jan. 17. Prices are $10 for students in advance, $12 for general public in advance and $15 for students and the public when purchased the day of the show.
"Seahawk Reunion Saturday" jumps off with a 5K run at 8 a.m. at the Student Recreation Center. A homecoming pregame rally will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Hanover Gym parking lot.
The Homecoming Court crowning will be held during halftime of the UNCW men's basketball game against Northeastern University, which begins at 7 p.m. in Trask Coliseum.
