2006 Southeast Regional Science Fair Winners Announced

Wilmington, N.C. - The 2006 Southeast Regional Science Fair was held March 4 in Hanover Gymnasium at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. The annual event, sponsored by the UNCW Science and Mathematics Education Center, showcased 182 projects representing 14 school systems from three divisions (elementary, junior, and senior). Several professional and civic groups donated and presented special awards to exemplary projects in their fields of interest.The 14 school systems represented were Brunswick County, Clinton City Schools, Duplin County, Harrells Christian Academy, Infant of Prague Catholic School, Lenoir County, Myrtle Grove Christian School, New Hanover County, Onslow County, Pender County, Sampson County, St. Mark's Catholic School, Wayne County, and Wilmington Christian Academy.
The Southeast Regional Fair will enter a total of 21 participants to compete at the State Science Fair on March 25 at Meredith College in Raleigh.
