UNCW School of Nursing to Host Annual Research Day

Wilmington, NC - The University of North Carolina Wilmington School of Nursing and Nu Omega chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society will host its 14th annual Research Day March 30-31."Health Literacy: Bridging the Information Gap," will include a buffet dinner and keynote address by Fernando Moya at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 in the Madeline Suite. Moya is the current director of neonatology at Coastal AHEC and a professor of pediatrics at University of North Carolina Medical School, Chapel Hill. He previously served as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Yale University School of Medicine.
Poster sessions and podium presentations will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 31 in the University Union 100. Bonnie Angel will deliver a talk, "Health Literacy: Impact on Healthcare Research," at 8:45 a.m. Angel is Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a Diploma in Nursing from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA; a BSN from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; an MSN in Nursing from Duke University, a Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Education from Duke University and an EdD in Adult and Community College Education from North Carolina State University. The program will close with remarks and awards at 11:45.
This event is being co-sponsored by Nu Omega Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, New Hanover Health Network and the UNCW School of Nursing.
