Wilmington, N.C. - Area youth between the ages of 12-16 are invited to participate in the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), an opportunity to learn how to start and manage a business and finances. The summer session will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 10-14 in Cameron Hall at UNCW. Cost is $25 per student. Registration deadline is July 7.

The program is sponsored by the UNCW Cameron School of Business, the Upperman African American Cultural Center, Partners for Economic Inclusion (PEI) and Windell Daniels, a local entrepreneur.

Co-founded in 2004 by Tammi Hamilton, associate director of Cameron School of Business student services, and Howard Rasheed, UNCW associate professor management, YEP engages students in an on-going series of interactive activities geared toward business while in a fun environment.

Phase one (summer) of the program consists of introductory entrepreneurial training based on progressive business curriculum. Phase two (fall) includes a comprehensive training curriculum, guidance in business implementation, and participation in the business simulation competition.
