Urgent Media Advisory: UNCW Students to Commemorate Lives Lost of Sept. 11, 2001, with 3,000 Flags

Wilmington, NC - Student organizations at University of North Carolina Wilmington will remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001, by placing more than 3,000 American flags around the campus commons to represent the lives lost five years ago.

Students will begin placing flags around 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, to be displayed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Sept. 11. The campus commons is located in the heart of campus in front of Randall Library and just north of the Fisher Student Center. This non-partisan event is sponsored by the UNCW College Republicans.
