Media Opportunity with Julian Bond at 5 p.m., Jan. 16

Wilmington, N.C. - UNCW will hold a press conference with civil rights leader Julian Bond at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16 in the lobby of Kenan Auditorium. Media representatives will have an opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session and interview Bond, who will be visiting Wilmington to make the keynote presentation at the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at 7 p.m., also at Kenan Auditorium.Parking for satellite live trucks will be available for news organizations who wish to do live coverage of the press conference and 7 p.m. speech. A representative from UNCW Marketing and Communications will be available to assist with parking and logistics. Live camera and cable access will be made available. Security will be provided for organizations who wish to leave live trucks set up outside Kenan Auditorium between the press conference and the 7 p.m. event.

NOTE: Tickets to the MLK celebration and Julian Bond speech are sold out but media representatives are invited to attend.
