Severe Weather Statement - New Hanover County

Wilmington, N.C. - As of 2:32 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2007, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for New Hanover and adjacent counties through 7 a.m., Friday, March 2. This means that winds with speeds up to 50 mph are possible within the area and driving conditions may be hazardous. Severe thunder storm, lightning or tornado watches are possible during this time period. The worst of the weather should occur between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.Faculty, staff and students should consider how weather of this type will affect activities and take corrective actions such as securing outdoor equipment and review tornado response procedures at Emergency Procedures.pdf.
