Top Economic Researchers to Release Study of Costs of Global Warming to North Carolina Economy

Report Examines Impacts on State's Coastal Counties(Raleigh, NC) - Leading North Carolina-based researchers will hold a press conference June 20 in Raleigh to release a new study examining the economic impacts that climate change will likely have on North Carolina's coastline over the next 30 to 75 years. The new report, "Measuring the Impacts of Climate Change on North Carolina Coastal Resources," will assess the impact of rising sea levels on property values, recreation and quality of life, among other issues. It was conducted by researchers from Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, University of North Carolina Wilmington and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
