Wilmington, N.C. - At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 a clothes dryer caught fire near the pump room in the UNCW Seahawk Natatorium at Hanover Hall. University Police responded to a call from a UNCW housekeeper and contacted the Wilmington Fire Department, who arrived within minutes and contained the fire. No one was injured in the incident, and there was no indication of structural damage but the pool and laundry room were filled with smoke.

All facilities will open as usual for classes and other activities at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
