Wilmington, N.C. - Mandolinist Mike Marshall and violinist Darol Anger join with the Woodshop Folkestra to present an electrifying acoustic concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 in UNCW's Kenan Auditorium.

Considered two of the key players in the 30-year-old New American String Band movement they are helping to spearhead the most crucial developments in this quintessentially American art form. Together they continue their international musical odyssey begun in 1978 with the David Grisman Quintet and continuing to present, with innumerable collaborations along the way with some of the field's most important musicians. For the UNCW concert they are joined by five-time Grand National Fiddle Champions Tashina and Tristan Clarridge.

Their appearance is part of Arts in Action Performance Series and sponsored by UNCW Presents. The program seeks to culturally enrich, educate and entertain both students and the general public through the presentation of diverse programs featuring professional, high-quality performing artists.

Tickets are $6 for students, $14 for UNCW faculty/staff, alumni, and senior citizens, $18 for the public. Call Kenan Box Office 910.962.3500, hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mon. through Fri. and one hour prior to the performance.
