12:45 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008: UNCW is currently in the hurricane watch area for Tropical Storm Hanna. The university is officially open. All university classes, events and activities will continue through Thursday evening.

All classes, events and activities on the UNCW campus are cancelled on Friday, September 5, 2008 until further notice. Residence halls will remain open with a voluntary evacuation for students effective 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008. UNCW employees should report to work as usual on Friday and refer to the adverse weather policy.
