9:15 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, 2008: UNCW is currently in the hurricane watch/tropical storm warning area for Tropical Storm Hanna.

All UNCW classes, events and activities are cancelled for today and tomorrow. This includes Onslow County. Residence halls remain open with a voluntary evacuation for students effective 8 a.m. today.

The university will officially close at noon today. Non-essential employees must leave the campus at that time.
