In spite of recent public school job fair cancellations, 49 school systems and organizations will search for employees at the annual University of North Carolina Wilmington Education Job Fair.

WHEN: 9 a.m.-noon TODAY, Monday, March 9, 2009
WHERE: UNC Wilmington Burney Center.
WHAT: Hosted by the UNC Wilmington Career Center, the event is expected to draw more than 350 students and community members. Employers from across the South look to gain teachers, school counselors and administrators.

The UNCW Career Center has increased its extensive services to combat the economic downturn in which the unemployment of young bachelor's degree holders is expected to rise from 3.4 to 4.1 percent. UNCW career counselors work diligently to place students and alumni in professional positions by providing resume clinics, interviewing consultations, workshops, internship and job fairs, and other services.
